My Inspiration

Where to begin, it has been so long.. Right before 2011 ended I thought to myself where is my inspiration. Nothing seemed to look right. Jack and I had talked many times about maybe re-arranging our home a little but truly I didn't feel like it.  My passion seemed to be more of a hassle. Right before Christmas I left home to be with my family in  the Netherlands. My mom and Rob just purchased an old dike home in a town called Rossum. The home was build in 1880. Of course through out the years there have been made some changes but the character is very much still there. My mom always knows to turn a house into a home almost instantly. They painted the entire home, stripped floors, build new walls, removed walls, removed strange closets, and painted floors and staircases. The moment I walked into their new home I was home. I also wasn't sure where to start looking. There were so many small details..
Old vintage books and mirrors. An old toolbox from Rob's grandfather, many old pictures (all with a story), a vintage sewing machine, vintage crystal, and so much more.

Vintage sewing machine from Rob's grandmother..

Willow baskets with stacked Vintage Books (it is hard to tell in this picture but on top of the books there is a vintage 3D viewer with all the 3D images in a separate box). Very special!

On the right is Rob's grandfather's Toolbox.. with most tools still in place.

Jeanne D'Arc Living and wooden shoes go perfect together..

Simply White with Driftwood Wreath in Bedroom..

Being home with my mom made me feel like I could come back to our home and start somewhere again. My Mom always knows how to give me back my inspiration..

... the beginning

My two sweet grandmothers, my sweet mom and sweet dad always have known, even before I did... One of my first presents was a small vintage marble box with pearl flowers on the lid.
The feeling that I have when I think about a vintage tray my mother gave to me or my grandmother's teacups that I love so very dearly is very indescribable ..
Even now when I come across a vintage mirror or a ceramic biscuit jar I wonder, how can something so beautiful still be here for me to love.
I dream, think, imagine, (try) to draw, I go, and search, create vignittes, and even pin about my love for vintage all day long.. I have an insatiable addiction to vintage mirrors, wire baskets, primitive furniture, vintage tea cups, and at the moment all things mustard yellow.  I hope with my blog I can share some of my thoughts and spread the love...
